Notes:

  • As of July 9, 2020, B.C. is reporting separately on COVID-19 cases in individuals whose primary residence is outside of Canada. Previously, these cases were assigned to the health authority that reported the case.
  • As of June 4, 2020, B.C. is reporting epi-linked cases, meaning people who were never tested but were presumed to have COVID-19 because they developed symptoms and were close contacts of a laboratory confirmed case. Epi-linked cases identified since May 19, 2020, are now included in the case total, but are not considered new cases unless they were reported in the last 24 hours.

The map on the left (blue) illustrates the geographic distribution of all reported cases from January 1, 2020 onwards. The map on the right (brown) illustrates the reported cases during the past 14 days.

Health Service Delivery Areas (HSDA) with higher rates are illustrated with darker colour shading. The number of reported cases in the HSDA appears under each label. Note that not all COVID-19 infected individuals are tested and reported; the virus may be circulating undetected in the community including where no cases have been identified by public health.

Notes: Cases are mapped by location of residence; cases with unknown residence and from out of province are not mapped. Data source: COVID-19 case line lists reported by the regional health authorities of B.C.

Surveillance reports

As of July 13, 2020, the surveillance report will be produced weekly, on Thursdays.

Next report: 5 p.m. July 16.
