Should I get tested?

Speak with your doctor, contact your local health unit or one of our TB Clinics about TB testing if you have:

  • travelled or lived in countries where TB is common
  • been around someone who had TB disease in their lungs that can pass from person to person
  • taken medicine that lowers your immune system
  • a health condition such as HIV, diabetes, kidney disease or cancer
  • TB symptoms:
    • coughing up mucus or blood
    • fevers, chills and night sweats
    • loss of appetite and unexplained weight loss
    • always feeling tired and fatigued
    • shortness of breath and chest pain
