Stewardship begins with us
The One Health approach acknowledges the interdependence of the health of animals, humans, and the environment. Collaboration, communication, and capacity building are at the heart of the One Health approach. When actors across sectors work together to identify and address health threats such as antimicrobial resistance, individuals, communities, animals and the ecosystems we inhabit are healthier and more resilient.
Each and every one of us, across all sectors, has an important role to play in slowing the spread of antimicrobial resistance and stewarding the effectiveness of antimicrobials. By actively and consistently implementing antimicrobial stewardship practices, together we can reduce risks from antimicrobial resistance to humans, animals, and the environment.
The 2024 Western Canadian One Health Antimicrobial Stewardship Conference aims to facilitate information exchange on antimicrobial stewardship between human and animal health practitioners, researchers, agriculture and government stakeholders, policy- and decision- makers, and industry members.
Through engaging discussions, innovative research, and collaborative initiatives, we will work towards a healthier, more sustainable future for all.
