We work to reduce the impact of TB in BC through health promotion, disease prevention, TB treatment and follow-up.
Our work
Provincial TB Services (TBS) provides TB consultation for health care providers across BC. We also manage most patients with TB Disease and coordinate the case management of drug-resistant TB and complex pediatric patients.
We provide approximately 25,000 service points in the lower mainland and about 800 TB clinic visits monthly. We offer testing, diagnosis and treatment to marginalized individuals exposed to TB in urban and rural orremote areas.
We lead the implementation of the TB Strategic Plan and incorporate digital solutions into TB care.

annual surveillance reports on the incidence of TB in BC.
World TB Day
Each year, we commemorate
World TB Day on March 24 to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing this disease.
