Chris Fjell

Dr. Chris Fjell is a senior scientist at the Public Health Laboratory at BCCDC and a clinical instructor in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UBC.

Research

Dr. Fjell's research focuses on informatics and data science to support clinical metagenomics testing and analysis of molecular simulation of host-pathogen interactions.

Bio

Dr. Fjell obtained his MSc in Engineering and Physics and PhD in Experimental Medicine in UBC. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship in Microbiology and Immunology and was a research associate in UBC Critical Care Medicine at St Paul's Hospital, Centre for Heart Lung Innovation. He is currently a senior scientist at BCCDC Public Health Laboratory focusing on informatics and data science to support high-throughput advanced testing such as genomics sequencing of pathogens.
