Alexis Crabtree is a public health physician and the medical lead of Harm Reduction and Substance Use Services at BCCDC. She is also a clinical instructor in UBC School of Population & Public Health.
Dr. Crabtree believes that research can help move us towards a world that is more welcoming and fairer for people who use substances. Her current research includes the Harm Reduction Client Survey, a quality improvement and research project which connects with clients at harm reduction supply distribution sites to learn about their health needs. She is actively involved in research to evaluate public policy to address the unregulated drug poisoning emergency via administrative health data and qualitative research.
Bio
Alexis Crabtree is a settler of European descent and was born and raised on Treaty 7 territory. She holds a BA in Community Development Studies from the University of Calgary and an MPH from the University of Alberta. Dr. Crabtree is a graduate of the joint MD/PhD program at the University of British Columbia. She completed residency training in both Family Medicine and Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
