Case data

Variants

B.C. has transitioned to whole-genome sequencing on all positive cases to provide gold-standard analysis to detect variants of concern and fingerprint details to support outbreak responses.  Sequencing results are available four to seven days after the sample is received by the BCCDC Public Health Lab. The variants of concern report is available weekly on Fridays.

Note: September 24, 2021: Due to a technical issue, the report on variants of concern will be delayed to next week, Friday, October 1. Based on partial data, delta continues to be the dominant circulating variant in the province.
