PHSA’s strategic plan includes enabling strategies that will assist in addressing organizational areas of improvement identified by these results. We are working to address these concerns raised by our clients so that we can continue to improve services and provide the best possible care. Strategies we wil be working on include:
- reinforcing infection control practices, such as hand washing
- using a variety of educational tools to support staff, to engage in client-centred care
- ensuring client education materials are available in their preferred language
- building organizational capacity to facilitate improved communication
- building knowledge translation and transfer initiatives.
All BCCDC service lines have reviewed the survey results and are implementing improvements. Survey results are used to support other projects, initiatives and annual goal setting within the service lines.
