Radiography

Quality control standards for diagnostic x-ray equipment are available.

Health Canada Safety Code 35: Radiation Protection in Radiology - Large Facilities, Quality Assurance Program for Radiography
Shielding Explanatory Notes, Radiography Facilities Shielding Guidelines for chest, general duty/trauma, Radiography/Fluoroscopy, and a Shielding Checklist may be used to determine shielding requirements for a new installation or when modifying an existing installation.  RIN 16 will assist with replacing portable x-ray equipment used in emergency room trauma bay with a ceiling mounted, track system, x-ray tube set-up and control booth.

Radiation Emergency Response Procedures provides guidance to address:
  • transportation incidents
  • accidents
  • fires
  • discoveries, etc
