Influenza vaccine eligibility

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older receives the influenza vaccine, with rare exception.  However, it is especially important that certain individuals are vaccinated, including those who are at high risk of serious illness from influenza (such as young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with certain medical conditions) and those able to transmit or spread influenza to those at high risk.

For a complete list of those for whom influenza vaccine is recommended and provided free in BC, see the BC Immunization Manual, Part 4 - Biological Products, Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Eligibility.
