Salmonella Enteritidis Investigation

Since 2008, the BCCDC, the BC regional Health Authorities and the BC Ministry of Agriculture have collaborated to investigate an ongoing increase in the number of human infections caused by Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) in BC.  This increase is thought to be associated with poultry products including eggs.

A number of actions have been taken by BC public health and animal health professionals to address this issue.
