Herpes
Herpes is caused by the herpex simplex virus, or HSV. There are two types of the herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2.
HSV-1 is the most common cause of
cold sores
Genital herpes
is caused by both HSV-1 and HSV-2
