Herpes simplex virus
Herpes simplex virus		 Genital herpes is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections.  It is caused by the herpes simplex virus, almost equally by herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1) as herpes simplex 2 (HSV-2). There is no cure for the herpes virus, but antiviral medication can relieve symptoms and help sores heal faster.
